INTRODUCTION

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The programme will be delivered in an interactive style, using group discussions, and programme material, encouraging active participation, exercises, real life case studies and questionnaires. There will also be the opportunity to discuss individual issues on a one to one basis with the Programme Leader if necessary.

  • Introduction, programmes objectives and ways of working
  • Change in organisations, including case studies.
  • Assessing Competency Gaps
  • Aligning Training & Development activities to the business needs  
  • Training & Development activities and organisational success including case studies

MODULE 2 - Clarifying/developing the role of a Training Managers                                   

  • The skills and attributes of a Training Coordinator - exercise
  • How do people learn?  When making training decisions - exercise
  • Accounting for individuals’ learning styles - questionnaire and exercise
  • Resources planning -  medium and long term requirements
  • Managing change - managing your own training and development needs

MODULE 3 - Training Needs Analysis (Corporate vs. Individual needs)

  • The relationship between T & D and company performance
  • At the Corporate level – including case study
  • Departmental and section training needs
  • Team development including Planning (TDP)
  • Personal Development Plans, manpower/ talent management

MODULE 4 - Evaluation Techniques

  • Delivering effective structured programmes.   
  • Application of a  training model using a case study
  • Evaluation Techniques including ROI of training
  • How to construct an Evaluation Survey  
  • How to present results to best effect - evaluation in action. 

MODULE 5 - Budgets and Action Plans

  • Understand the Training and Development budget planning process.
  • Generating Individual action plans, and agreeing priorities
  • Review and programme recap
  • Final review, presentation of certificates and awarding of CPE points


COURSE TRAINER

Mr. N.M. THANGARAJ
Associate Trainer

Thangaraj serves as a Associate Trainer for Training Network Inc. Sd. Bhd. He collaborates with the management of organizations to address issues of strategy, communication, organizational alignment and performance improvement. His primary role is to assist organizations in connecting their people to organizational strategies.

His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science (Resource Economics), Master of Science and an Advanced Professional Diploma in Management. He is currently embarking on doctorate program at a local university. Thangaraj had attended a stint in Financial Management at the renowned Sunridge Park Management Centre in the United Kingdom in 1994. 

Thangaraj is a HRDC registered trainer, and holds a valid teaching permit from the Ministry of Education to teach degree and post graduate programmes. He has been a key Course Tutor in employee relations, change management, organizational behaviour and business economics in several academic programs including the Australian MBA programmmes of the universities of Newcastle, Edith Cowan, James Cook, Charles Sturt, Ballarat and Sunshine Coast; Management Program of the University of London; Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering Business Management and Operations Management of the University Technology Malaysia. Thangaraj is also a facilitator for several competency based certificate programs in the areas of Project Management, Human Resource Management and Industrial RelationsManagement. He has been invited as a speaker in a number of local and international conferences pertaining to human capital and change management.

Vastly experienced as a consultant and trainer, Thangaraj has conducted numerous sessions for personnel in the senior management and supervisory categories in the area of Leadership and Supervisory Competencies covering topics such as Managing Organizational Change, Collective Bargaining, Negotiation Skills, Effective Coaching and Mentoring; Developing High Performance Teams, Influencing Groups and Individuals, Creative Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution, Strategic Planning and Vision Development, and Economics for Strategic Planning.
