INTRODUCTION
What Is Emergency First Response (EFR) ?
EFR is an innovative First Aid program with
comprehensive instruction in Primary Care (CPR) and
Secondary Care (first Aid).
Primary Care (CPR) prepares trainees to render aid to those with life-threatening emergencies.
Secondary Care (First Aid) builds upon what the trainees
learned in Primary Care and helps them assist those in
need when emergency medical services are either
delayed or not available.
EFR Basis & Validity
The EFR program is based on established instructional and
educational protocols to render an educational valid and
credible product. The course are flexible and accommodates
individual learning styles using a variety of media
EFR follows the standards set by the consensus view of the
Basic Life Support (BLS) Working Group of the International
Liason Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR)
ILCOR is an international standards group representing many
of the world’s major resuscitation organizations. A source
authority for the development of content material in the EFR
program is Guidelines 2000 for Cardiopulmonary
Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care,
International Consensus on Science, Circulation, 2000; Vol.102 (suppl I), 2000 American Heart Association Inc. is
also cited in “Resuscitation” the official journal of the
European Resuscitation Council. Medical content review was
completed by an international group of respected physicians
and the program was beta tested in several global locations.
The EFR program delivers professional, educationally and
medically reviewed CPR and first aid courses that meet
international standards, yet allows flexibility for regional
variations.
