Dealing Effectively with Absenteeism
What Is Hospitality Skills Training System [HSTS]?
 
HSTS is a Hospitality Training Program that is consistent and reliable, and its competency standards that follows National Occupancy Skill Standard (NOSS) under Majlis Latihan Vokasional Kebangsan [MLVK]. It is a recognized qualification to asses people’s skills and knowledge and can be used to describe the skills and knowledge required to produce an effective performance in the work place.

HSTS is a product of Training Network Incorporated [TNI] and the HSTS is designed to :

  • be modular*
  • be user friendly
  • provide an integrated set of nationally endorsed competency standards, guideline and qualifications for a specific industry.
  • encourage the development and delivery of training to suit individual needs.
  • enable qualifications to be awarded through the direct assessment of competencies
  • encourage learning in a work environment and on-the-job training.

Delivery of Hospitality Skills Training System

HSTS has been designed and packaged in such a way that delivery can be made through many methods and ways. This is to ensure that training can reach out far and wide and to as many people as possible. It is also important to note that individuals learn at different pace and will respond differently to specific methods. Delivering can be made in two ways :

  • On the Job Training
  • Off the Job Training
Area of Training
There are several areas covered in this system. However it can be categorized into two main areas that is Development Training and Skills Training.
Development Training consist of :
  • Train-The-Trainer Program
  • Training Needs Analysis
  • Training Plan
Skills Training consist of :
  • Food & Beverages
  • Kitchen
  • Room Attendant
  • Public Area
