INTRODUCTION
Each year, organizations would organize teambuilding workshops for their staff in order to inculcate or reignite their team-spirit. During the workshop, the participants would undergo various games and activities to build a sense of togetherness. However, from our research, organizations often find their staff back at square 1 after a while. This is because creating a team spirit is an ongoing process in any organization. It can be achieved through teambuilding programs but must be inspired and systemized through a team-builder’s program.
OBJECTIVE
This 2-day highly-participative workshop seeks to equip the participants (managers, organizational leaders and department heads) who are in charge of work teams and groups of people in the organization with the essential psychological tools to inspire and build their teams at the workplace on a daily basis. In essence, you will be trained to be team-builders so that you can inspire, motivate and manage your team on an ongoing basis. By attending this program, you can:
- Learn to understand the behavior of your team members
- Be better equipped to motivate, manage and move your team on a daily basis
- Handle troublesome and uncooperative staff members more effectively

PROGRAM OUTLINE & STRUCTURE
DAY 1
9.00 am – 1.00pm Module 1: The psychology of team-builders
Do you know your own personality as a leader of a team? Is there a way to identify your strengths and weaknesses when you are dealing with your subordinates at the office? It has been documented that in whatever field,
the personality of the leader effectively shapes the direction of the team. In
this session, you will learn:
a. how to identify your own personality style / profile
b. how to understand your subconscious inclinations as the team-leader
c. your niches and strengths which can make you a better team-mover
1.00 pm – 2.00 pm Lunch
2.00 pm – 5.00pm Module 2: The psychology of workers
After understanding yourself, you need to understand the psychological workings of your people in the organization. An effective working team at the office is possible only when you are able to see each employee on a deeper level i.e on a psychological level. In this session, you will learn:
a. the various personalities of your workers
b. simple on-site profiling techniques which you can use at work in the office
c. how to ensure there is a task-personality fit in your team members
DAY 2
9.00 am – 1.00pm Module 3: Planting psychological motivator-systems in your team
Normal teambuilding and motivation workshops can only go so far. It is like fishing. You only eat for a day or two. However, if you learn to fish, you can eat for a lifetime. In this session, you will learn how to keep your team motivated on a longer basis at the workplace, by:
a. knowing what rewards (physical and psychological) to use at the office
b. applying psychological leverage on your team members
c. being the constant silent motivator at your office

2.00 pm – 5.00pm Module 4: The office environment as a team-builder factor
An oft forgotten element of building teams is the office itself. In this session, you will learn the various psychological interventions to place in your office to induce better behavior and cooperation from your subordinates. When
the office is an oasis of team-spirit, your team does not need to be built once a year in any elaborate program but their team-spirit is developed progressively and continuously during the normal work hours. In this session, you will learn:
- the signs of a healthy and a sick office
- how to incorporate motivating elements into the physical office space
- how to encourage a team culture in their daily work life

Dr. Alvin Teoh is a Speaker and Author with a diverse working experience in husbandry, sales and marketing, clinical consultancy, teaching, grooming, team-collaboration, drama and training. He uses his more than 13 years' academic and professional experience to create training modules that are fun and result-driven.
Dr. Alvin is a Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Semantics, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnosis & Time-Lines recognized by The International Society of Neuro-Semantics (USA).
He has conducted seminars and workshops for directors, managers, executives, accountants, entrepreneurs, doctors, educators and participants of various corporate and academic levels; from the Medical, Financial, IT, Networking, Sales, Scientific, Engineering, Automotive, Advertising, Plantation, Tourism and Education sectors, and many other industries. He has also created and conducted team-building modules upon which government doctors are evaluated for their career advancement and promotion.
Dr. Alvin further holds a Masters of Business Administration from The Southern Pacific University (US), a Diploma in Psychological Counselling and a Diploma in Stress Management from the Institute of Healthcare Administration (India). He has also earned a Certificate in Beauty Foundation from RPA (Malaysia) and a Certificate in Teaching Speech and Drama from Crestar (Malaysia) .
He served as the 2003-2004 President for the Sunway Chapter of Toastmasters International, the premier worldwide public speaking organization. A fiery & zany speaker, he has thus won numerous recognitions for captivating presentations. He is a sought-after presenter at international scientific conferences and has contributed regularly to scientific publications.
